English Self-directed learning programme 2025-26

Self-Directed Learning Programme (P.1–P.3)
With the support of the EDB’s special fund for self-directed learning (SDL), our school launched a school based SDL programme for Primary 1–3 students. Teachers-in-charge designed school-based SDL activities to introduce pupils to essential SDL skills during Friday ECA lessons.
- Level-based Topics:
- P.1 – My School: Students explored their immediate school environment.
- P.2 – Lovely Neighbourhood: Pupils investigated their community and surroundings.
- P.3 – Food and Me: Learners examined food, read menu and make personal choices.
- Learning Approaches: Students engaged in diverse SDL methods, including:
- Site visits
- Reading authentic materials
- Conducting interviews
- Online research
As site visits required outdoor learning, parents were invited ot assist. They participated enthusiastically, actively supporting their children’s learning journey.
This programme not only nurtured students’ independence and curiosity but also strengthened the partnership between school and families, creating a vibrant learning community.
